One Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning star (surprisingly, not Tom Cruise) nearly lost their nose to frostbite while filming in the Arctic
According to Simon Pegg, the crew included a team specifically watching for signs of frostbite and standing by ready to run on and warm the cast when the Mission Impossible sequel filmed in the Arctic.

It feels like we’re spending more time talking about the stunts in Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning than the plot or the characters, usually with Tom Cruise in the heart of the discourse. However, he’s not the only one who did stunt work on the movie and he’s not the only one who allegedly nearly died in the process. His co-star Pom Klementieff braved filming in the Arctic – and nearly lost her nose in the process.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight about the latest film in the Mission Impossible series, Pom Klementieff explained that she “almost lost [her] nose at some point” while they were filming in the Arctic. She apparently had “frostnip” on her nose, which is the stage before frostbite. “Right before the take I was making a joke that I was losing my nose,” she said. “I was picking it up on the floor. On the ground. And then we were shooting and there was a close-up of me and then at some point, everyone was like, ‘Pom! Stop! Get warm! Get warm!’ and I was like ‘What is happening?’ And my nose was turning white!”
Another of Klementieff’s co-stars explained that her nose was turning white and if they “had waited any longer it would have turned dead.” To help prevent this, Simon Pegg explained that they had a “whole team on set that were just waiting to run on set and put a handwarmer on our face, blow a hairdryer on our face.”
Because if you’re making a Mission Impossible movie, you can’t let Tom Cruise be the only one risking his life (and face) for the sake of cinema.
